Wady a Wady?

Well, wady is a Polish word but, since I don't read Polish, I haven't a clue as to what what it means.

Wady is also an Arabic word meaning a dry stream bed that only has water flowing in it following a rain.

In Australia, a waddy is an aboriginal war club.

In the western US, a waddy is a cattle rustler.

In Kentucy, Waddy is a town.

Finally, Waddy is an northern English family name. In the United States, the name seems to be concentrated in Virginia, particularly the Tidewater area, since Colonial times. The Waddy family apparently moved in high social circles and may have been related to the George Washington family.

Then, of course, there are all those Wady women in Orange and Alleghany County, NC.
