Ring Around the Collar

And, while I'm on a laundry roll, what ever happened to the dreaded Ring Around the Collar? Seems that when I was younger than I am today, every other commercial on television was for a soap powder that would cure the Ring Around the Collar problem. In fact, I became convinced that Ring Around the Collar was a greater national threat than the Iron Curtain or polio. Did Ring Around the Collar just magically go away? Or, was something really added to the soap powder that actually got rid of Ring Around the Collar forever?

Anyhow, we never hear about Ring Around the Collar anymore on television commercials. Seems that now every other one is about erectile dysfunction.

Hmmm. Makes you wonder if the disappearance of the former has anything to do with the latter. Does the Ring Around the Collar additive play a role in causing ED?
