Sculpture D2

Here's the second garden piece all painted up pretty and planted in the middle of my Japanese yellow sage.

What a struggle it was between the hemispheres. Left Brain wanted to use all the geometric pieces to make the sun perfectly round and symmetrical. However, Left Brain was running the welder and made it somewhat oval and mounted it askew.

I like the bottle tree (D1, of course) better but, hey, practice makes perfect.

No sculpting today because my hands hurt. In addition to the normal scrapes and burns, the right thumbnail is broken (cause unknown) and the tip of the left thumb is missing altogether. Now, when you grind the tip of your finger off with an angle grinder it feels just like you would expect it to feel except it does not feel hot because it happens so fast and all the nerve ending have suddenly gone missing. Since I didn't actually get down to the bone, there's just a nice flat spot on the end, revealing all the layers of skin and tissue. The throbbing has stopped. I'll spare you the photo.

And then there was the matter of the grit in my right eye ...
