Company's Coming

Today has been a day taken almost entirely by housekeeping chores. The worst of them was the pantry which got a complete removal of all items before cleaning.

You find the strangest things in a pantry. Why did we have three boxes of vanilla wafers? We only use them for making banana pudding, and only one of the three was opened. A small can of Eggplant Appetizer (Sicilian Caponata) made in Palermo (Sicily), Italy was on a shelf. So was a bigger can of Veg-all made in Siloam Springs, AR. What on earth do we have those items? But, the biggest surprise was an Irish potato that had been accidentally left in one of those plastic grocery bags. For six months. Or more. So, I reached in the pile of (empty) bags to throw them away and stuck my hand into this wet, squashy substance which immediately released that smell that only a long dead Irish potato can produce. There are, in my opinion, few more putrid smells in the world and if you don't know what it is like just put an Irish potato in a plastic grocery bag for six months and you'll know, too!

In between housekeeping tasks, I did manage to complete the welding table and here it is.

I'll need to run the electrical outlet to enable some location more convenient than in front of my workwench, though.
