Rationalization

Here I am in the middle of 12.5 acres of hardwoods in a house with a huge fireplace in the living room and a woodstove in the basement and the only thing separating me from low-cost energy efficiency was a way to get firewood out of the woods.

So, yesterday I bought a tractor. No, not one of those air conditioned jobs with surround sound audio system that the farmers use to grow corn out in Iowa but a Husqvarna GTH2448T garden tractor. Rationalization, you understand, is a wonderful thing!

Ain't she a beauty? And, all that yukky mower stuff down below drops off when you use the machine as a tractor.

I bought the tractor from an outfit in Spokane, WA over the Internet. It's being delivered to my driveway at a cost of about $300 less than I would pay for the same tractor from my local Lowes Home Improvement Center down the road in Elkin. Go figure.

Sam and I blazed a tractor access road down the hill this morning and we'll be ready when Matilda arrives next week.
