Rejection

I had submitted my Lebanon 2006 haiku to The New Yorker magazine for publication last week and I just received the following message from them:

"We regret that we are unable to use the enclosed material. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider it."

I feel so ... rejected.

Man, I thought it was really cool. The rejection must have had something to do with the cease fire.

There. I feel better already.
