Craig's List

As we go through the downsizing exercise, we are making daily decisions on which things can stay and which have to go. And, when changing from 2750 square feet of heated living space to 1200 square feet, it's mostly selecting which things have to go!

One of the ways of selling off this "stuff" is an online classified ads web site called Craig's List. It's kinda like ebay but local and they don't actually handle any money. It's strictly local buying and selling between individuals, just like the classified ads in the newspaper, except at no charge to the seller. For the Triangle area the site is http://raleigh.craigslist.org. It's a great idea and is really easy to use.

The thing was started by Craig Newmark out in California and here's the history. Like refdesk.com and a few others, it's apparently a nonprofit Internet service created and

operated by an individual.

Give it a look-see and buy some of our stuff!
