Wishy Washer
I've been suspicious of the dishwasher that came with the townhouse from the beginning. The previous owners seemed entirely too happy that it passed inspection. And, alas, I was right. The thing began gasping for air like a carp out of water last Friday.
Wishy Washer, of course, worked just fine when the CFO tried it Saturday morning, but when we were at Home Depot that afternoon I urged her to look at the lineup of discontinued floor models for sale at 20% off the list price. There she sat ... Wishy Washer II ... wearing a little black cocktail dress and bejeweled with electronic controls. "Take me home!," she purred. "Sorry", I said. "Wishy Washer is still working for the CFO. But, hang in there a little longer for me."
Wishy Washer, of course, refused to work for the CFO the very next morning. Now a replacement was manditory and, so, we were off to Home Depot again in hopes that Wishy Washer II was still there. She was and with an additional 20% discount of the already discounted price. Further, Home Depot had sent me a 10% discount coupon when we bought the townhouse. So, the final price for Wishy Washer II was 90% of 80% of 80%, or 57.6% of sticker. The Donald would have been proud of a thriple-discount purchase.
Wishy Washer II is now on the job full time and she's smart as a whip. She knows when the dishes are still dirty and need another cleaning cycle, when they are sanitized, and when they are dry. Although quiet as a church mouse, she can also wait until you are fast alseep in bed to begin her dirty work.
Not bad for $261, eh!
