The Mother of All Widow Makers
The reason one doesn't walk in the woods when the winds are blowing are widow makers, dead limbs blown from the tree that fall on your head and kill you. After our last blow here in Air Bellows, Sam and I found the mother of all widow makers.

Here's the dead tree with its top missing (A).

And, here's the top in two parts, (B) and (C).
When the top (B and C) blew out, it impaled itself vertically into the ground beside the snag (A). When that happened, it was with enough force that the top section (C) sheared off from the center section (B). How far the center section (B) penerated the ground I don't know, but is was deep enough that I was unable to physically remove the exposed section (about 8 feet in height) by brute force.
By quick calculation, parts (B) and (C) weigh somewhere between 150-200 pounds. And, from the height they fell, that's more than enough to put a dent into even my thick skull and make an instant widow of the CFO!
