Wittgenstein's World

I've spent the morning reading the English translation of Ludwig Wittgenstein's opus, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. I am exhausted.

If you have not read this book, I urge you to do so. But, fair warning, throw away (at least for the reading) everything which you hold to be true and just open your mind. Don't get let the details bog you down. It's written in a formal style with sections numbered 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.1.1, 2, 2.1, etc. So, when the going gets impossible, just link to http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/5740 for a text copy, delete the 1.1.1.1's and keep the 1's, 1.1's and 1.1.1's. And, in the end, the picture of "the world" as painted by Wittgenstein in Tractatus will make the life we live a less frightening experience.
