World's Third Best Sandwich
Having just finished lunch, I've just decided that, in my opinion, the peanut butter/banana/honey sandwich is the world's third best sandwich. To make it I like to use a Italian pane bread, Smucker's peanut butter (peanuts and salt), fully ripe bananas and clover honey (sourwood would be overkill and waste of that precious elixir). Slather peanut butter on both pieces of the bread to hold the whole thing together. Carefully cut the banana ovals to fit perfectly. And, dribble the honey over the bananas allowing it to flow into the cracks between the banana ovals. It's going to be a messy eat with the honey squishing out the sides. But that's why you have a tongue and index finger!
The world's second best? That would be a mater sammich made in July with fresh Bunny light bread, lots of Duke's mayo and a single thick slice of a tomato grown in Johnston County with a sprinkling of salt and pepper. This beast is not such much eaten as it is inhaled.
And, the world's best? A pork barbecue sandwich from Skylight Inn, Wilber's, Lexington #1, Little Richards or a dozen other joints. But, you surely already knew that ... didn't you?
