Boom
As I sat here at the table enjoying a quiet dinner, I glanced out the windows to see a beautiful peach twilight over the Peach Bottoms Mountains. Beyond, clouds hovered over the New River Valley. Sam lay snoozing on the couch. And then ...
... boom! The F16's are back in Goldsboro and it must be great fun for the boys to fly over the house and see by just how little they can miss hitting Catherine's Knob. They are flying at subsonic speeds but one of these babies punching a hole in the sky still makes plenty of noise. And, they are going so fast that by the time you figure out which direction they are going, they are gone. I'll bet they had a great view of the sundown.
Dinner tonight was one of my favorite quick dishes. Brown some chorizo sausages, onions and green peppers in a heavy pot. Toss in a cubed tomato, some canned black beans, the liquid in the can of beans and some frozen corn. Add salt, pepper and cumin to your liking. Simmer for 15 minutes and enjoy.
