Forsooth
Were I worth a tinker's damn as a forsooth, I would have anticipated that battery technology would fail to keep pace with computer technology and would have incorporated a 120Vac receptacle in my deck when I built the house 7 years ago to power my battery-powered laptop with a line-lump power supply. So, here I sit in my Lounge Lizard with my Dell Inspiron connected to a really ugly orange drop cord plugged into the front side of the house some 25 feet away. Of course, when I built the house in the summer of 1999 I didn't actually own a laptop and the need for such a receptacle was a moot point.
The sun had set once again behind the Peach Bottoms as the birds sang their sunset songs. The sky has turned a leaden gray and the ole corn wagon is rumbling somewhere over the New River Valley. When Sam gets up to go inside, I'll be three steps behind her! I'm not complaining, mind you, because it's dry as a bone and we surely do need some rain.
My favorite -- indeed, the only -- radio station of interest on the mountain is WBRF in Galax. At 98.1 FM, it's country -- old and new -- in the day and Americana in the evenings. Right now the Blue Ridge Backroads Show in on with traditional mountain music. You, too, can enjoy WBRF wherever you are over streaming audio at http://www.blueridgecountry98.com ...
... time to go ... here come the rain and daren't get my cigar wet!
