Brutal Mountain Weather
As I was carrying a bucket of water down to the Hillside Garden to water the tomato and pepper plants this morning I had a premonition that it was going to be a brutally hot day on the mountain. I was ...
A hummingbird just flew through the house!
... moving slowly to avoid breaking a sweat because I needed to go visit Sweet Thang down at Alleghany Electronics. My cell phone would only turn on and off, and nothing else. Stuck in a electronic state of suspended animation, as it were.
Sweet Thang, a very nice young lady who truly knows everything there is to know about the use of cell phones and computers, confirmed it was broken and sent it off for warranty repair. And, she gave me a loaner to use for the 6-8 weeks while my Razr is out for repairs.
I had a good visit at the county dump on the way back and found lots of good stuff for sculpting. But, it felt hot and Sam was panting heavily. Back home, I sat on the deck in the Lounge Lizard and had a light lunch. The finishing touches on the garden could wait until it got cooler.
When I finally did go down to complete the job, I was soon soaked with perspiration. So much so, in fact, I came back to the house when I was finished and took a shower, the second one today. That's it. I ain't moving anymore until this heat wave breaks!
And, just how hot was it, you ask? Well, the weather stations says it got up to a high of 78.8°F about mid-afternoon.
I'm truly spoiled, folks!
