Homecoming

Yes, indeed, Murphy came home today ... minus the family jewels, of course. Not that he/it noticed, jumping into the Jeep as if nothing had happened at all except for having made a clean jail break.

He and Sam hit it off swimmingly. In short order, Murphy was off the leash and the two of them were romping through the woods like life-long pals.

Murphy is apparently well housebroken. He was sitting by the door and it took me a minute or so to figure out why. Duh! Also, he has been trained to not sit on furniture or lay on beds. Now, how's that for a dog "out of the box"?

The CFO has herself one heck of a dog!

What with the homecoming and all, I didn't get started with mushroom logs until the afternoon. But I did manage to get another 30 inoculated as I've become much more proficient at drilling, filling and sealing.

The guys -- Sparky, Large and our intrepid correspondent from Beirut, Talbeau -- are coming for a weekend of golf on Friday. That means yet another housecleaning. Well, maybe or maybe not. After all, it's just the guys and they'll never notice. But if Talbeau did and said something to the CFO .... OK, yet another housecleaning. But, they can all use the same bath towel.

Oh, as for Suzy Q, she's in hiding under the bed with brief and carefully timed forays to the utility room for food.
