Number 61
Here's the birthday card I received from the CFO. The note inside was "Simple pleasures on your birthday." Perfect!
After finishing the mushroom logs in the morning, I spent much of the afternoon resting on the deck in the Lounge Lizard, watching the hummingbirds. The fledglings were a hoot, their first flights reminding me of Woodstock's, the bird in Charles Schultz's comic strip, Peanuts. I gave thought to going into town to buy something for dinner, but settled for a ready-made Red Baron pizza and a glass of wine instead and watched the sun set behind the Peach Bottoms. Simpler pleasures, indeed.
Wah and Thriller sent me a nice 8-inch bench grinder that arrived by FedEx last week. And, an envelope arrived by snail mail from Harbor Freight a few days later that I nearly threw away. I'm glad I didn't because it contained a gift card from the girls sufficient to purchase that sander as well. Thanks, guys!
Oh, I also baked some chocolate chip cookies, carefully following them difficult high-altitude instructions.
