In the Garden
Looks a little like a Civil War battleground, doesn't it, with all the dead and dying Mountain Maples laying on the ground?
But apparently I haven't toiled enough just yet because, as I was walking up the Sunset Trail to make this photograph, I noticed that God has planted another whole crop of 'em on the hillside below the trail. Hmmmm.
OK, so along with the thorns and thistles a few flowers must grow in the garden. And, here is one of the most beautiful wildflowers of all, the Turk's-cap Lily, I also found along the trail. It's so pretty I'm giving you a peek at it from bottom, side and top.
Meanwhile, down in the briar patch the blackberries are beginning to get ripe.
In the Hillside Garden, the tomato plants are flowering.
And, here's a couple of wild critters that like to romp through the woods together every time I visit the garden.
Now if Eve just hadn't eaten that %#^&@#^ apple ....
