Pete Jones Pit: 4
So, I'm studying on how to fit the tin roof on Pete and it hit me like a ton of bricks that there was no room between the rack and the roof for the pig! On goes another layer of blocks, 2 inches narrower to leave a ledge for the rack at 16 inches above floor level.
Brickwork I'd planned for the cool of the morning finally got underway in the heat of the afternoon. I love laying bricks because, unlike the brute force of setting blocks, it's all finesse.
You know, this thing should work great as a smokehouse. Think I'll add a little cold smoke port in the brick wall on the front for the purpose. What do you think, Dan?
Hmmm... Wonder how many of these turkey I saw crossing the road this morning would fit on Pete?
