Italia: Day 4

It rained in Florence this day.

But, with the help of Neptune, we persevered.

They have a big church in Florence ...

... with a big dome ...

... and a big bell tower.

The city is the cultural center of Italy but everything of importance is in a museum and they will not let you take pictures of them.

So, alternatively, here's a photograph of the potty in our hotel room, a thing of beauty and joy to operate after that one in Venice.

I did sneak a photograph of Michelangelo's David from outside one of them. The museum lady was shaking her fist at me and screaming something in Italian. My guess is that it was something bad about my Mother. Should you think I was actually close to the statue, it's 15 feet tall, not counting the base!

We visited the Uffizi Gallery, one of the major art museums of the world. Basically, what they had was painting after painting of "Madonna and Child" by about a thousand different painters (or so it seemed). If I ever see another one, I'll SCREAM.

Yep, that's me!
