Quiet Passage
Summer has quietly slipped into Autumn, marking the beginning of my favorite time of year. The days here on the mountain are becoming crystal clear with that certain feel sunshine has as the shadows lengthen and nights become longer than the days. And, like a squirrel gathering nuts, I have begun accumulating firewood for the winter.
Interesting, the autumn equinox doesn't carry the same spiritual weight as the spring equinox or the two solstices. Pagan religions noted it with minor holidays and the Roman Catholic Church used Michaelmas to replace them. Oh, well, Halloween/All Saints Day is just around the corner.
