Cheap Chicken
Armed with the grocery stores and pharmacy ads from the Alleghany News I went power shopping this morning. Lots of really good 2-for-1's and 10-for-$10 mix-and-matches at Food Lion, Lowes Foods and Kerr this week, folks. But the real deal was chicken fryers.
Here's the one I bought.
And, here's the price tag. A whole freakin' chicken for $1.99! That's $0.69 a pound, dressed.
Here it is baked on a throne for dinner. Mmmmm, good and good for you.
The total cost of the half-chicken meal? About $1.20.
The same thing at Boston Market? About $7.00.
Now, CFO, how about that?
