Buffett For President

In the event you missed the comments made yesterday by Warren Buffett, the second wealthiest man in America, to the Senate Finance Committee, I'll repeat them for you here.

"Tax-law changes have benefited this group (the super-rich), including me, in a huge way. During that time the average American went exactly nowhere on the economic scale. He's been on a treadmill, while the super-rich have been on a spaceship."

His solution is to ease up on taxing the poor and middle class and "take a little more out of the hides of people like me."

He favors a "very progressive consumption tax" that puts the burden on those using the nation's resources.

This, folks, is from the capitalist's capitalist, the man who said the greatest mistake of his life was selling his Big Mac stock.

Buffett for President!

Nah! He's too honest and straightforward a man for that.

He made money the old fashioned way: He earned it by using his wits and considerable skills. I admire him for both his achievements and his candor.
