Been Had

Somebody sent an email saying, "Dave, somebody has gotten your goat, you old fool. A Julbok is a Swedish Yule Goat."

Well, wouldn't you know, I looked it up on the Internet and sure enough it sez that a Julbok is a mythical figure, half man and half goat, that represented the Devil in olden days but now is a straw goat that delivers gifts at Christmas.

Now I don't know what kind of goat I have. I went to goatworld.com and the only Swedish goat they listed was the Swedish Landrance. Sez, "The Swedish Landrance is found in northern Sweden. They are kept primarily for milk production. The Swedish Landrance can be either polled or horned and is seen in colorations of black, brown or white. The hair on this breed is usually long." But, alas, no picture and I don't know what long hair is on a goat.

All I know is that I've been had. That and I've still got a some kind of a goat named Billy with the GERD.

Now, believe it or not, there is a 911 for goats at goat911.com. The one in North Carolina is located in Durham and they say, "We handle nearly all of our own doctoring: vaccinations, disbuddings, castrations, sick goats, weak kids and are happy to share what we've learned. We can be helpful when you are trying to deal with a less than knowledgable vet (no offense intended) when trying to diagnose or treat a condition."

Think I'll given them a call in the morning to hear what they have to say about Billy's condition.
