Kermit's
The CFO and I went into Sparta today to pick up Sam and Murph at the kennel. (OK, technically, we went through Sparta to Twin Oaks to pick up Sam and Murph at the kennel.) While in town I decided to get my Christmas haircut at Kermit's and give the CFO an opportunity to savor the ambiance.
So, here we are. That's Kermit with clippers in hand, being a good sport about doing something with all that mass of hair. (He'd just finished with a guy had maybe a couple of dozen hairs in his whole head.) The CFO, seen in the mirror with camera in hand, is taking the photograph.
Kermit has been cutting hair in this same chain in this same shop since 1967, the same year the CFO and I were married. (Yes, folks, that's 40 years and counting.) The entirety of services listed on the price board is "Haircut $10". The practice is first come, first served. No exceptions.
Kermit also plays bass in the string band that performs a couple of doors down the street at Alleghany Jubilee every Tuesday and Saturday night. Sez he's given up on that phone call from Nashville.
