The Good News Gazette: Issue 8

Despite the pronouncement that Raleigh is now greater in population than Minneapolis, Tampa, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and St. Louis, there was some good news in the News & Observer this morning. To wit:

  • The success of the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant down in Atlanta this week offers hope that the sufficating pall of the Southern Baptist Convention can at long last be broken.

  • The Straussians are scrambling to figure out how to live with John McCain as President of the United States.

  • Dick Vitale has sufficiently recoverd from throat surgery to be at Duke Indoor Stadium next Wednesday night as an announcer for the Duke-Carolina game.

It all warms the cockles of my heart.
