Blimp Me
As I crossed the continental divide in Roaring Gap yesterday, I saw a colorful object in the sky to the west. My first impression was that it was a hot air ballon. But on a Monday? In Alleghany County? It didn't compute.
By the time I got to the Blue Ridge Parkway, I could clearly see that it was a blimp. Turns out it was the DirecTV blimp, the DIRECTV HD Starship to be exact.
This blimp, which goes to NFL and college games and to NASCAR races, was coming from Bristol where the latest race was held last weekend and, I suspect, headed to Martinsville where the next race will be held this coming weekend.
So, now I've seen two blimps over Alleghany county - the DirectTV yesterday and the Goodyear last year.
What next?
