Dogs Know
As I was working in the shop downstairs yesterday evening, Sam and Murphy can running in, all excited. Now that's fairly unusual because they don't care for the sounds of most of my power tools and generally stay out except to remind me that it's their dinner time. Yet this time they stayed, despite having been feed already.
Sure enough, about two minutes after their arrival I heard a sharp SNAP followed by a huge thunder BOOM followed by the smell of ozone. I looked out the window and a large electrical storm was approaching from the northwest. The air had that menacing quietness about it that precedes these kinds of storm.
Dogs just know these things.
I ran upstairs to shut the doors and unplug computers, televisions and everything else that has a transistor in it. No damage.
The storm was accompanied by a nice rain and we got another good shower sometime last night. In my morning walk to the garden today, I noticed that the emerging ferns had gone a little crazy overnight, some growing by as much as six inches or more.
Spring is here?
