Shiitake Crop

Large called today inquiring of the shiitake crop. I hadn't been out to check on the mushrooms in a few days and I brought back just over a pound of them.


Most of these are Snow Caps (notice the white spots) but the second variety is also beginning to bear fruit. The third variety shows no signs of life whatsoever.


For dinner I enjoyed a black-rind Cheddar cheeseburger with grilled shiitake mushrooms and onions. Good stuff.
