Mother's Day 2008

Hope all you Mothers out there have a Happy Mother's Day despite the weather. And, do we have some of that! The storm, shown here is visual, radar and infrared satellite images, looks like a hurricane on land.

The eye (low pressure center) in these images is located over the Indiana-Kentucky border and its track looks as if it might pass just to the north of us. But it have a huge mass of air swirling about it and we are expecting heavy rains and strong winds out of the (usual) northwest later today.

THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM MOUNT ROGERS SUMMIT TO REESE...OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 8 MILES NORTH OF WHITETOP TO 7 MILES SOUTH OF MOUNTAIN CITY...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.
