Travels
On my way back to the mountain I saw two scenes along US-64 outside Siler City that made me stop and turn around to photograph them.
This old house with broken window panes and vines growing out the chimney is still well maintained.
This old cemetery, once lovingly tended, is not now.
The sign completes its sad picture story.
Driving down the Parkway and other mountain roads at altitudes above 2500 feet, it might have been late fall with all the tints of yellows, oranges and reds in the new leaves.
Down in the Hillside Garden, the Black Limbertwig apple tree was in full blossom.
In only 6 days my self-imposed restriction on planting tomatoes expires!
