Winday

Well, the 100% chance of rain happened yesterday. And, the high winds are happening now. It hasn't been really bad thus far, with sustained winds of 20 mph and gusts to 45 mph. The hummingbirds are a hoot to watch as they fly through the gusts to their feeders. They've even suspended their dogfights for the duration!

The satellite show us on the edge of the storm with its counter-clockwise rotation, giving us winds out of the northwest. The barometric pressure is rising rapidly as the low-pressure storm center moves away from us. This is truly a huge mass of air that is swirling about the northeast portion of the nation.

Here's what it looks like from down below this morning. What you cannot see and hear, of course, are the big trees swaying and the wind whistling by the house.

Think I'll stay out of the woods today!
