Farming

I am by no stretch of the imagination a farmer. Firstly, I haven't the patience for it and, secondly, I'm dumb as a rock about horticulture. So, my method is trial and error. To that end, I planted eleven hills of pumpkins at various locations throughout the garden in hopes that a few of them would be good locations. Wouldn't you know it, the locations that I thought would be poorest have proven to be best!

The pumpkins in this hill are of the variety that get big enough to fill up the back of a pickup truck when you take your biggest one to the state fair. We'll see.

While I was away, I also missed the Lily of the Valley bloom and the blackberry bloom. Apparently the blackberries did well without me because the vines are now loaded with "greenberries". The crows and I are keeping an eye on 'em.
