Freedom
Today, 26 June 2008, is the day I had chosen many years ago for my retirement from the American work force. Yet, I must say that my retirement having begun a day shy of two years ago ain't all bad. I've gotten in a good 729 days of retirement "practice" and made a significant reduction in the sleep deficit accumulated over the decades of gainful employment. The main difference going forward is that, when asked what it is that I do, I can now say, without need of qualification, "Whatever I damned well please 'cause I'm retired!"
Indeed, should you be given the choice, seize the opportunity with joy. It's highly recommended.
Free at last, free at last, Great God Almighty, free at last!
