That's Cool
Now, folks, here are two happy hounds.
When we got back on the mountain, Sam and Murph wanted to stop at Glade Creek Mill Pond on the Blue Ridge Parkway. And, here they are in the creek cooling down.
A nice breeze was blowing down the creek and that was the first time I have been truly cool in two weeks!
The rhododendron came and went during the fortnight I was away. Oh, well, I still have hopes I'll be here for at least one full bloom before I die.
I also missed most of the iris bloom. Here is the last of the big German hybrids.
The Hillside Garden fared reasonably well and I lost only a few transplanted marigolds. The snow peas bloomed and will be ready for harvesting this weekend or before. The okra I planted just before leaving has sprouted and is doing well. So did the second planting of pumpkins and sunflowers. The tomato plants more than doubled in size.
It's good to be back on the mountain.
