The Driver

Now, the boys at the Henderson Festival like to tell a story ever now and again. And, so it was that Wayne told one about the driver.

Seems that the limo driver had gone to the Charlotte airport to pick up Billy Graham and as they were about to leave Billy Graham told the driver that he felt like driving home that day. So the driver hoped in the back seat and off they went down the Billy Graham Parkway that goes to and from the Charlotte airport. Before long the limo was going 90 miles an hour as it passed by a Highway Patrol car checking for speeders.

The young Trooper pulled over the limo and saw Billy Graham at the wheel with a passenger in the back seat. The Trooper withdrew, saying "Just a moment, Sir. I'll be right back."

The Trooper returned to his patrol car and radioed his Sargent.

"Sir, I've got a situation here with a car I stopped for speeding."

"Don't tell you've pulled over the Mayor again!"

"No, Sir, it's bigger than that."

"The Governor?"

"No, Sir, it's bigger than that."

"It's not the President is it?"

"No, Sir, it's bigger than that."

"Well, who is it then? Jesus Christ?"

"Yes, Sir, and Billy Graham's driving the car!"
