Dog Olympics
We set off this morning to the Dog Olympics at the NCSU Faculty Club. What a goat rodeo, with Murphy, Sam, Daisey, The CFO, Da Bear, Wawa, Spud and me all in the Jeep at one time. But we made it ... somehow.
They had a pretty nice turnout for the event. Dogs of all makes and colors competed in events like begging, howling, sitting, longest tail, etc. The Raleigh police had some of their K9 Patrol dogs there doing their things. I though it interesting that they use only dogs from Europe because the dogs there are still being bred as working dogs rather than pets.
It was, naturally, hotter than ... well it was hot and Spud soon began to glow in the backpack on his Dad's back. You could also buy lunch there and one of the items on the menu was, of course, hot dogs!
There was also a rabies vaccination and electronic ID chip clinic, where Murphy, Sam and Daisey all got ID chips for only $10 each. What a deal.
