Family Day 2008
The CFO and I went to the Skunk Work's Family Day today. In addition to some free barbecue, it always an opportunity to see a few folks.
Wilhelmina and I share a common birthday. Well, we were born on the same month and day, but I arrived a few years before she did. She is the owner of that smooth voice who answers the phone when you call the Skunk Works.
H² likes to say that he is older than dirt. Could be. All I know for certain is that whatever came out of his mouth about products and technology, you could always take to the bank. He was always under-recognized as a technical writer (one of the best I've ever known) but was well known for his excellent technical presentations. And, yes, a few of his jokes were funny.
I worked in the same department with Lois my entire stay at the Skunk Works. Her father was a professor at NCSU who tried to teach me a little calculus 40+ years ago.
Becky is the HR pipeline for Skunk Works retirees. No matter what, she always has a friendly smile and a kind word for you.
I had the opportunity to meet a number of other folks for whom I don't have photographs. Next time.
