Forty Percent
I visited the hand doctor again today and he reports that the bones now has about 40% of the strength they had before being broken.
The fracture to the fifth metacarpal is healing the slowest.
I'd say the fourth and third metacarpal look much better.
Four of the five wires were removed today. Yeow! The fifth had worked itself half way out ... which is to say half way in ... last Friday and it didn't take me long to decide which it was. I finished pulling that one out myself and it is laying on the mantle in Air Bellows! I plan to eventually incorporate all five wires in a piece of sculpture.
So, I'm now free to use my hand within the limits of the pain I can tolerate. Much therapy will be required, however, to regain flexibility and muscle tone.
