Scottish Ale
My second batch of homebrew is now in the bottle. It's a Scottish Ale, perhaps my favorite beer in all the world.
This batch of 5 gallons was made the old-fashioned way, starting with barley malt. The recipe used a couple of British hops and a Scottish Ale yeast to acquire its unique flavor. It's been in the bottle for about a week and should sit another three before drinking.
My yield was 41 twelve-oz bottles at a cost of less than 50¢ per bottle. (Don't bother to count. What with "sampling" dead soldiers and all, only 35 are shown here.)
