Death in the Family
William Mark Felt, Sr., a modern day American patriot, died today. He was the FBI's Associate Director who leaked details of the Watergate Scandal to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of the Washington Post.
The Nixon White House suspected Felt of being "Deep Throat" but did not move against him because they knew he had access to everything involved in the investigation. Further, John Dean, the White House counsel, informed Bob Halderman that even if Felt was the informant, he had committed no crime and could not be prosecuted.
Felt was a brave man to whom the nation owes its gratitude.
