Duck Walk

Spud has been under the weather for the past couple of days with a case of the "walking pneumonia" but is doing well now with the assistance of a pharmaceutical. Wawa was ready to get out of the house and so it was that the CFO and I joined them for a stroll around Sunset Lake in Apex.

Feeding the waterfowl moldy bread is a popular activity with Spud on these walks. Here he is with the CFO tossing crackers from the fishing pier.

The lake has a host of displaced seagulls. Somewhat leery of humans, they mostly stay airborne.

The mallards are more trusting and will approach more closely.

Mallards begin their courtship in autumn and, as we saw today, pairs are already formed by winter.
