For a variety of reasons, the CFO and I will be celebrating Christmas in the flatlands this year and thus needed a small tree for the townhouse. Here it is!
Now, this tree makes many folks happy. It makes me happy because I legally acquired a 7-foot Fraser fir for a $10. It makes Alleghany Cares Thrift Store happy because they received $10 from me (in exchange for the tree) to use in their charity work. And, finally, it makes the tree growers happy for their tax deductible donation of the trees to Alleghany Cares.
The only unhappy souls are the tax collectors who lose revenues at the Federal level for the tree growers tax deduction and at the State level for Alleghany Cares tax-free exchange of a cash contribution for donated merchandise.
