The Moravian Star

We were given a really nice Moravian Star by Sis last Christmas. Although the box did not indicate such, some assembly (as they say) was required. Now, folks, let me tell you. When you assemble a Moravian star, it is best to be stone cold sober. Even as you finish assembly, you can only marvel that such a feat is possible. My head aches thinking about the geometry involved in their construction.

So here it is in all its radiant glory this night on the front porch of the townhouse.

This one is of the 26-point variety with 18 long points (pentahedrons with square bases) and 8 short ones (tetrahedrons with equilateral triangle bases).
