One Step Closer
The Backwoods Bean fire inspection was completed this morning with flying colors. The only infraction was a chair too close to one of the two wall heaters and that was remedied real time by moving the chair a distance of two feet. It was a reasonable directive from the Alleghany County fire inspector and I had no objective with compliance. (Note to Wawa: A small change in the green chair seating group is needed.)
The fire inspector also made the first purchase, an "experienced" coffee cup for his collection. These cups are ones that I've bought from various thrift shops and am reselling for $1 to those who might like to drink their coffee from a ceramic cup instead of the disposable cup in which I am obliged to sell them their coffee. Of course, the inspection fee was $35 and, as a result, I netted a loss of $34 on the deal. The longest journey begins with a single step, I'm told.
A visit from the inspector from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture on Friday morning is up next. He's driving an hour and a half from Taylorsville to look at the bakery portion of the shop.
