Winter

Old Man Winter is making another run with snow flurries in downtown Sparta today. Three overnight campers stopped by the shop late after having decided that a night on the AT at Mt. Rogers might be a little dangerous. The wind is now howling as it did during the coldest parts of this winter. Enough is enough already.

Speaking of the shop, I had the best Monday ever despite a shortage of baked goods (due to being away for the weekend). A day does not a trend make but I stepped up the shop exposure by adding an LED open sign to let the world know for the first time that I'm actually open.

I'm training a fellow to open the shop when I'm not there. He has great enthusiasm for coffee and seems to be a quick learner. He'll be ready to go "solo" on Friday and Saturday of this week while I'm in the flatlands for April and Patrick's nuptials. And he'll work for bartered coffee!

Now if only I don't get snowed in ...
