Daisies

Well, folks, I'm not pushing up daisies just yet as you might well have surmised by the lack of postings over the last four weeks or so. What I have managed to do is get the fledgling Backwoods Bean Coffee Shop completed and in full flight. That has meant expending about 12 hours a day, six days a week, on it of late. I wouldn't call it work, however, as it has been satisfying and enjoyable.

From a business perspective, the shop has already exceed the objectives of my eight-month startup plan in less than five months. In fact, sales for last week were twice my targeted weekly sales. All this, unfortunately, has come at the great expense of making the CFO a very unhappy camper. She has opted to not participate in the enterprise and does not appreciate having an "absentee husband". Accordingly, I'm at the junction of having to decide between either reducing shop days and hours or increasing the complexity of a simply constructed business and successful by bring in a hired hand. The great question in my mind is whether Backwoods Bean can continue as a "hobby business" if replete with employees.

Decisions, decisions.

  1. I think hiring someone is a great idea. You can still go to the shop anytime you want and still have fun during your retirement!

  2. Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and teetsd to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
