Den of Iniquity

We now have (or rather had) a complete lineup of shop instruments for a blue grass band — mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar and bass fiddle. Only trouble is that the bass fiddle had a mechanical failure of the tailpiece and needed repair. Now, the owner of this fiddler, Allan, who works in Farmer's Hardware which is located diagonally across the street knows a good old boy (GOB) who comes into the hardware store on a regular basis and can make the necessary repairs. The guy showed up last Friday.

So Allan queries GOB regarding the repairs. GOB responds that he can do the job and will be happy to pick up the fiddle. Allan tells him that it's in the coffee shop across the street, whereupon GOB amends his offer to repair said fiddle if Allan will bring it to the hardware store for pickup.

"But," responds Allan, "the coffee shop is right across the street!"

"Oh", says GOB, "I would never go into a coffee shop."

"Why not?"

"I just can't."

Hmmm. Must have been the JA I played the other day.
