Hello Again

It's been a long while since I posted to this blog on a regular basis. In the interim I opened a coffee shop in Sparta which occupied me nearly fully for most of that time. But, I sold the shop last May and cannot use it as an excuse for the past six months. I'll just say that the past half year has been a personal hell and leave it at that.

I've been active on facebook (dave@mashthatbutton.com) of late but it has two flaws. First a limit is placed on the number of letters in each comment and, secondly, the comments are broadcast (meaning that, unlike blog posts, you get my stuff whether you want it or not.)

I've also started keeping a personal diary (a first for me) as a mechanism for talking to myself. It serves as mirror to determine if I'm actually going nuts or just feel as if I'm going nuts at times.

Then there is a book of philosophy that I'm trying to write. That's a lonely effort on a lonely subject! Nevertheless, it is an effort that I really enjoy.

Finally, since I seem to be pissing off just about everybody I come into contact with these days, I'm going to make an effort to be even more of a recluse, using this blog as the mechanism for speaking my mind. I'm not certain that I can keep up the one-a-day pace (piss-off's, posts or both) of the past. But please do visit from time to time, and hopefully you will find something interesting or even, as Dickey Smothers once said, "pregnant with feeling".
