Apples
Such excitement on the mountain! My Carolina Red June apple tree has four apples on it this year. Planted in the fall of 2007, the tree has had blossoms on it each year, but alas, no apples.

Apples do not self-pollinate and must depend of pollen from another apple tree to fruit. None of the other trees had bloomed and, as such, I expected no apples again this year. But somehow -- a bee, the wind, whatever -- pollen from another tree found its way to the blossoms and nature took its course. First apples on a new tree!
