Saved

Not once during my recent visit to Asheville was I asked whether I have been saved or told that I was going to Hell if I didn't change my ways. On Sunday I did see a little sign post sitting in middle of the street with a flashing yellow light on top of it.  The sign, also sitting in the middle of a crosswalk in front of the West Asheville Baptist Church, did politely advise drivers that North Carolina law required drivers to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. But, it did not, however, say that you would go to roast in  Hell if you didn't. I saw no pedestrians in the crosswalk, dead or alive. And, when I went out for coffee later, the sign was gone. A very civil thing for them to have done, I thought, before an automobile was injured by the sign.
